KZNPSA SELECTION RULES.

KZN SELECTION.
The Teams Selections shall be determined on a mechanical basis.

 

 

SCORES HISTORY.
The KZNPSA Admin Officer will keep a record of the scores and
the copies of the following current results and calculations.
Leagues and KZNCC competitions per Division (i.e. Open, Standard, Production and Classic).
League history per Division, (all Grades), KZNCC to be treated as a league.
The best four (4) out of the last six (6) League shoots, the KZNCC will be included when applicable, totaled and divided by four (4) to arrive at an average percentage and listed in descending order of merit.

SELECTION CRITERIA.
The proposed team members will be selected from his/her score history on a 
Mechanical basis (i.e. per the historical average percentage). 
Subject to the following relief being applied or considerations being taken into account

RELIEF FOR A SHOOTER LACKING HISTORY.
There will be relief for a shooter who lacks League and or National history for selection for a KZN team. The shooter may be placed in the descending order of merit according to the average of history available/applicable, (where the average will be the total score of the shoots available/applicable for history, divided by the number of the same shoots), provided that.
Relief is applied only in cases of merit.
There is a history of at least one (1) shoot result, during the previous twelve (12) months.
The relief ceases if a further shoot, be it a League, KZNCC or National, is missed.
A shooter can only enjoy relief once in a two (2) year cycle.

RELIEF FOR A SHOOTER LACKING HISTORY AS A RESULT OF A TRANSFER FROM ANOTHER PROVINCE OR DIVISION
If a shooter has transferred to KZN or has advised the KZNPSA Executive of his/her intention to change from one (1) Division to another (i.e. Open to Standard), the shooter will be selected for a KZN Team although he/she has no history as a result of the transfer or change of division, provided that.

Once relief is enjoyed by a shooter on these grounds, he/she is thereafter considered for selection according to his/her average (being the total score of shoots shot where history can be recorded, divided by the number of the same shoots).

PROVISIONAL TEAM SELECTION.
Teams will be selected mechanically and Teams that are selected will be Provisional and will be circulated to the Members for their perusal and to allow for any queries to be made prior to the final Teams being announced. 
The Administration Officer will advise Team Members of their selection.

TEAMS.
Teams consisting of a minimum of three (3) members each may be selected for Nationals or similarly rated shoots. 
The standard of team members and the interest of the Province must at all times be a determining factor in the selection of any team and shall be as follows: - to qualify for Team selection a Competitor must achieve at least eighty (80%) percent of the top Competitor in his/her division, in Provincial shoots. A Team may be selected, if there are a minimum of three (3) Team Members who have achieved the 80% requirement.

KZN TEAM CAPTAIN. 
The selected A Team members may select a Team Captain from their Teams and advise the Admin Officer of their choices.

KZN COLOURS. 
Full Provincial colours and a Team certificate will be awarded at the KZN Prize-giving, for the Practical Pistol Team Members who have represented the Province with three (3) Team selections at three Nationals or similarly rated shoots. Provincial colours are only awarded once.

NOTE: 
It will be the responsibility of the Administration Officer to ensure that 
The necessary records are kept in order that colours may be awarded and issued accordingly. Further, only current and fully paid up Members qualify for the Award of colours.

KZNPSA COLOURS.
KZNPSA colours will be awarded to a Competitor who competes in one (1) National and shoots all Leagues except one (1) and the KZN Closed Champs. KZNPSA colours are only awarded once.

Three Gun Teams. 
Teams may be selected using the 80% selection rule for the best two (2) of the last three (3) Leagues if there are 3 Leagues held each year. Provincial colours will be awarded to Team Members who have been selected for and competed in a minimum of two (2) 3 Gun Nationals.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.
There must be a minimum of ten (10) Competitors in a Division, for the selected Team Members to qualify for any financial assistance. The amount of financial assistance paid to Team Members will be determined, based on the financial situation of the Association.
3 Gun Teams, when selected, will not qualify for financial assistance, for the first two (2) years, when the Teams compete at Nationals.
